|Show Unit Name:| if checked, then measurement readouts include the unit name. For example, a readout of "6cm" reads as "6" when this item is not checked.

|Scaled: | sets the scaled readout units.

|Equals:| specify the relationship between the size of the drawing (screen units), and the real world size.
|Screen Units|: select the size of the ruler's screen unit.
Specify a scaling multiplier. Only integers are allowed: you cannot specify fractions or decimal numbers.
Specify the multiplier for the screen unit. Use integral, decimal, or fractional values (i.e. "2", "2.3", or "1/2"). Resulting value must be at least 1/72 of an inch, and no greater than 6 inches.
|Grid Snap Divisions|: select the number of equally spaced grid snaps between each screen unit.
|Correspondence|: an bar shows the equivalence between the screen units (above) and the scaled units (below).
|Out:| the entries on this side show zoom-out magnifications. You are limited to 8X (but when editing, and depending upon the document window size, zoom-out can be increased beyond this amount).
|In:| the entries show zoom-in magnifications. You can zoom-in up to 8X.
|Zoom Preview:| if set, then you can select other magnifications to preview the custom ruler, above.
|Magnification:| click or drag to select a different magnification to verify proper setup of scaling and divisions in the |Custom Ruler| preview.
|Standard Ruler|: this ruler provides readouts in the currently selected screen units. It is for reference, and will change when the screen units change.
|Ruler|: select one of six rulers preview and changing.
